In this article, you will learn more about how to receive your pension or insurance payments from Ukraine if you have been granted temporary protection and are living in Bulgaria.

IMPORTANT!If you receive a pension or insurance payments in Ukraine but are currently living abroad, you must confirm once a year that you are alive. This procedure is called physical identification.

Deadline: Every year, by December 31.
If you do not complete the identification process, your payments may be suspended.

I. Who Does This Apply To:

  • Ukrainian citizens who have lived abroad for more than 183 days in one calendar year;
  • Ukrainian citizens who have received temporary protection abroad due to the war.

II. What Is Physical Identification


It is a simple verification process during which the Pension Fund of Ukraine confirms your identity using your documents in order to continue paying your pension or other insurance benefits.

How to Confirm Your Identity: You can confirm your identity in one of three ways. Choose the most convenient option for you:

1. Online via “Diia.Signature” (Diia ID)
This free and remote method allows you to verify your identity online.

2. Video Call Appointment
Another free and remote method — you can schedule a video conference with a Pension Fund of Ukraine specialist.

3. In Person at a Consulate or Embassy
You can verify that you are alive by visiting a Ukrainian consulate or embassy in person.

Important: The notarial certificate issued by the consul must be personally sent by you to the relevant territorial office of the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
