Caritas Vitania - Support for professional development and humanitarian aid

1. "Caritas Vitania"  Career Centre - Plovdiv
The Career Centre works in two areas - refugees from Ukraine and other countries of origin, Bulgarian citizens from vulnerable groups. 
The Career Centre employs a highly qualified team of specialists and social assistants, with established stable contacts and partnerships with many employers from different companies, businesses and independent sites, which facilitates the set results and helps to realize sustainability.
The main services are:

  • Information and counselling: preparation of CV, preparation for interview, conditions under Bulgarian legislation, employment rights and obligations, support in equating diplomas, etc. If necessary, they are accompanied to various municipal or state institutions.
  • Drawing up an individual plan
  • Taking a course in the Bulgarian language
  • Entrepreneurship and starting your own business: information and advice
  • Vocational training 
    Career centre for Bulgarian citizens:
    at the same time, Bulgarian citizens are supported with free job placement assistance through career counselling and mediation. Vulnerable groups that can benefit from the project are:
  • unemployed young people up to 29 years of age;
  • disabled and socially disadvantaged people;
  • single parents with children up to 4 years of age;
  • parents of children with special educational needs;
  • unemployed people over 55 years of age;
  • unemployed people with primary or lower education and without professional qualifications. 
    Persons in training, employed and retired are not eligible for the programme.

The service is free.

Languages of the service: Bulgarian, Russian, Arabic.

2. Humanitarian Centre ‘Caritas Vitania ’ - Plovdiv
The Humanitarian Centre is the main point for collecting and providing material donations such as clothes, utensils, household items, toys and necessities for young and old of all ethnic backgrounds, including refugees.

Supporting Bulgarian citizens. The programme provides a regular home for people who are in need of a meal or who are living in extreme poverty; for people with various health problems which make them unable to cook; for citizens of retirement age who do not have the conditions to cook or find it difficult to provide for themselves. Packages are provided to people in need twice a month, on Tuesdays, from 11:00 to 12:30.
Supporting refugees and third-country nationals:
the Humanitarian Centre team provides various types of support to nationals who have fled their own countries' wars. 

  • Social support to refugees and migrants with translation and completion of documents to any institution;
  • Integration support - assistance in registering with a personal doctor; assistance in enrolling for nursery, kindergarten or school; lessons in Bulgarian language; assistance in finding and renting housing; holding art workshops and visits to cultural institutions; organizing thematic celebrations and events;

The service is free.

3. Career Centre ‘Caritas Vitania’ - Burgas
The Career Centre is aimed at disadvantaged citizens and provides access to employment through career counselling, guidance and job placement.

The team of specialists of ‘Caritas Vitania’ aims to:

  • ensure equal opportunities and non-discrimination of vulnerable groups;
  • overcome the discriminatory attitudes of employers for hiring disadvantaged persons;
  • facilitate contacts and cooperation with institutions and other organizations;
  • provide individual counseling with an expert in business development and labor law, etc. 
    People who can benefit from the activities of the Career Centre are:
  • unemployed young people up to the age of 29;
  • people with disabilities and socially disadvantaged people;
  • single parents with children up to the age of 4;
  • parents of children with special educational needs;
  • unemployed people over the age of 55;
  • unemployed people with primary or lower education and without professional qualifications.
    Persons in training, employed and retired are not eligible for the programme.

In addition to Bulgarian citizens, the centre in Burgas also provides career support to 50 migrants, including those from third countries, to help them integrate more smoothly and safely into our country. 
Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 08.00 to 16.30
