
Ekaterina Karavelova Women's Association comprises a Community Support Centre, a Centre for Counselling and Prevention of Domestic Violence and is also an external provider of the social service Crisis Centre - a delegated state activity for Silistra Municipality.
- Community Support Centre - a complex of social services for children and families. Objectives:
o prevention of abandonment of children and their placement in specialized institutions
o prevention of violence and school drop-out
o deinstitutionalisation and reintegration of children
o training in independent living skills and social integration of children from institutions
o counselling and support for families at risk
o assessment, training and support for foster and adoptive parents
o counselling and support for children with problematic behaviour
- Centre for Counselling and Prevention of Domestic Violence offers legal, social and psychological services to support victims of domestic violence, which includes
o familiarisation with protection options if they are subject to domestic violence
o assistance in preparing an application to the court for protection
o referral to and mediation with institutions that can support victims in coping with the problem
o involvement in recovery programmes through social and psychological support.
- Crisis Centre - a complex of social services for children and people, victims of violence, human trafficking or other forms of exploitation, which are provided for a period of up to 3 months, with the possibility of extension up to 6 months, when important circumstances require it, and are aimed at providing individual support and meeting the daily needs, legal counselling of users and social - psychological assistance. The service provides a 24-hour secure environment in order to prevent relapse into violence.
