The Employment Agency (EA) is an executive agency under the Minister of Labour and Social Policy. It is responsible for implementing the state policy in the areas of:

  • promotion of employment;

  • labour market protection;

  • career guidance;

  • adult training;

  • provision of employment mediation services;

  • work with economically inactive persons;

  • research and analysis of the country’s labour resources.

Labour Offices

Labour Offices are territorial units of the Employment Agency within the General Directorate “Employment Services”.

Main activities:

  1. Registration of job seekers.

  2. Services for job seekers:

    • information on advertised vacancies;

    • information on employment and training programmes and measures;

    • mediation in job information and recruitment;

    • professional information, counselling and guidance;

    • vocational and motivational training;

    • inclusion in employment programmes and measures;

    • provision of scholarships for vocational qualification training.

  3. Services for employers:

    • information on active job seekers;

    • information on programmes and measures to preserve and promote employment;

    • mediation in workforce recruitment;

    • inclusion in employment programmes and measures;

    • preferences and bonuses for maintaining and/or increasing employment;

    • bonuses for vocational qualification training and/or internships.

  4. Other activities:

    • participation in teams developing measures in cases of mass layoffs;

    • involvement in the development of regional and local employment and training programmes;

    • participation in the implementation of national, sectoral, regional and local employment programmes, including for vulnerable groups on the labour market;

    • research on training needs;

    • exchange of information on vacancies and active job seekers;

    • labour market research and monitoring;

    • preparation of analyses and forecasts on the state and trends of the local labour market.
